Benzoic Acid is a white flake that is soluble in alcohol, ether, chloroform, benzene, carbon disulfide, carbon tetrachloride, turpentine and slightly soluble in water.

Description

The technical grade of benzoic acid is used in the production of the food and industrial preservatives sodium and potassium benzoate; as a building block in the synthesis of alkyd resins; as a performance enhancer in alkyd resins, polyester fibers, and HPDE filaments; as a raw material for the production of caprolactam and glycol dibenzoate plasticizers.
